Jasmine Pogue
STYLIST
What would you like people to know about you?
Art has always been my passion, and using my talent to make people feel great is very satisfying. I have been in the hair industry since 2001 and enjoyed all there is to learn about hair. I have attended many hair classes and have even taught some. I love being part of the talented Shear Excellence team of stylists, who are hair artists for life and do what they do so well.
I’m an artist and love connecting the perfect hairstyle with my guest’s unique type of hair. So first I will want to discover what ideas you have for your hair, then I will honestly help you figure out a style that is your best look. When we are done talking about hair tips and tricks, I also love to learn about what brings YOU joy. I look forward to hearing about your favourite things, meals you like to cook, comedians or any other interests. I’m always interested in sharing stories, ideas and experiences.
What can guests expect when they visit you at the salon?
I have an eye for improvement, so it excites me when guests choose me to help them look their best. Your best look is the one you feel comfortable in, which is a crucial part of deciding on a style. I look forward to collaborating with you to achieve your goals.
What is your favourite beauty trend of all time?
Bangs; so many options and so many ways they have been worn over the decades. The right bang can really transform a style and, for some, no bangs is the best option. Fighting with a cowlick every day is no way to live. Some of my fave famous people with bangs include Goldie Hawn, Tiffany Thiessen, Gwen Stefani and Hillary Duff.
When you’re not at work, where can people find you?
If there is a beach, I’ll be there, unless bowling is an option, then I’ll be bowling! Most days I am visiting with fam/friends and convincing them that a game of Scrabble is a good plan. I also love being outside in my tiny garden, seeing things grow and enjoying the flavour of fresh produce. Walking, biking, snowboarding or rollerblading all give me the opportunity to see the beauty of nature. When the weather is bleak, I’ll be up to art projects, relaxing with a good movie, learning something new, or trying out a new recipe.
